Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Manager

We are currently responding to multiple Defence RFQs and are seeking Expressions of Interest from highly experienced Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) professionals who want to contribute to complex, nationally significant Defence capability programs .

About the Program

This role supports LAND 8710 – Littoral Manoeuvre (Landing Craft Heavy), Phase 2, a strategically important maritime acquisition program that will deliver critical amphibious capability to the Australian Defence Force.

Operating within a high‑tempo acquisition environment, the program involves extensive coordination across:

* Defence Capability Sponsors
* Engineering authorities
* Sustainment organisations
* Industry partners
* Governance and assurance forums

This is a Level 3 – Advanced Practitioner role suited to a senior ILS professional who can operate with authority, independence, and confidence in a complex Defence setting.


Key Responsibilities

* Lead and coordinate all ILS activities across the full acquisition lifecycle.
* Provide authoritative advice on ILS matters to the Project Manager, Principal Engineer, and governance forums.
* Plan, manage, and coordinate ILS inputs to Statements of Work and related deliverables.
* Identify, manage, and report ILS‑related risks, issues, and dependencies.
* Prepare high‑quality briefs, papers, and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
* Develop, maintain, and gain endorsement for Integrated Logistics Concepts and Plans.
* Define and mature Support System requirements in consultation with Capability Sponsors, Sustainment organisations, and FIC stakeholders.
* Ensure support system design aligns with Defence logistics concepts, operational and sustainment requirements, and whole‑of‑life capability considerations.
* Review contractor ILS plans, processes, and deliverables for compliance with contractual requirements, fitness for purpose, and alignment with Defence policy and standards.
* Lead and facilitate workshops to remediate deficiencies in contractor outputs.
* Coordinate multi‑stakeholder reviews of ILS deliverables, ensuring review actions are tracked, managed, and closed.
* Provide assurance across all LSA activities and outputs.
* Assure Supply Support and Training Support products.
* Ensure traceability between approved support system requirements and LSA outputs.
* Ensure logistics products align with approved engineering configurations and baselines.
* Work closely with engineering teams to manage the supportability impacts of change.
* Coordinate with the Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) team to ensure GFE integration is fully reflected in ILS products.


Qualifications and Experience

* Demonstrated experience delivering ILS in a Defence acquisition environment.
* Strong working knowledge of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), Maintenance Requirements Determination, Supply Support, and Training Support.
* Proven ability to lead and coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams and stakeholders.
* Experience conducting assurance and review of contractor logistics deliverables.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including briefing senior Defence stakeholders.
* Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification.
* Experience with maritime or complex platform acquisition programs.
* Familiarity with transition‑to‑sustainment and Introduction Into Service activities.
* Defence project office environment in Canberra ACT.
* High levels of stakeholder engagement across Defence, industry, and sustainment organisations.
* Role requires structured planning, governance discipline, and proactive issue resolution.


Performance Measures

* Quality and timeliness of ILS deliverables.
* Effectiveness of stakeholder coordination and issue resolution.
* Compliance of logistics products with Defence requirements and engineering baselines.
* Readiness of support system outputs for transition to sustainment.
* Contribution to overall project schedule, risk reduction, and capability outcomes.
