LWB Education is a wholly owned subsidiary of Life Without Barriers and is comprised of a network of schools supporting young people to re-engage in education by providing high school aged students with inclusive and flexible learning options.

Commencement Date: January 2026

In this inaugural Principal position, we are looking for an outstanding educator with school leadership experience to lead our new LWB Education schools' initiative across NSW.

In 2026, LWB Education will launch our first four campuses in Newcastle, Grafton, Mount Druitt, and Dubbo, each with a Teacher and Youth Worker for up to 15 students.

As Principal, you will oversee campuses through remote and on-site support, leading staff to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that promotes student wellbeing and achievement.

You will drive teaching excellence, implement trauma-informed practices, lead school improvement, manage staff development and operations, and build strong partnerships with families, community leaders, and stakeholders

Key Responsibilities

* Promote high-quality, engaging teaching that re-engages students and supports their academic and personal growth.
* Create safe, inclusive environments where young people feel supported, heard, and empowered.
* Develop strong, positive relationships with families, carers, Elders, cultural leaders, and external stakeholders.
* Lead school improvement initiatives, change projects, and embed First Nations perspectives across learning and culture.
* Support staff through supervision, feedback, and professional growth, while maintaining personal professional development.
* Uphold child safety, trauma-informed practice, and all relevant policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
* Ensure the effective organisation and management of the school including stewardship of financial and operational resources, school staffing, and compliance with LWB Education and relevant State and Federal policies and procedures.

Skills & Experience

* Tertiary qualification in Education.
* Active NESA accreditation or ability to obtain (per 2024 NSW Teacher Accreditation Manual).
* Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to manage a flexible learning school, delivering high-quality education and wellbeing programs for diverse students.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships across the school and community.
* Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary staff to enhance teaching, learning, and wellbeing.
* Demonstrated ability to plan systems, ensure compliance and manage resources effectively and equitably.
* Current First Aid certification
* Current unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence and ability to drive 12 seat vehicles.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and NSW Working with Children Check.
