We're seeking an experienced APS6‑level Procurement Officer to join a respected Federal Government agency and play a pivotal role in shaping high‑impact procurement outcomes.

About the Role
In this short term role, you'll be the go‑to advisor for procurement best practice, providing clear, timely and accurate guidance to business areas. You'll help stakeholders navigate the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and PGPA Act with confidence while ensuring procurement activities deliver real value to the organisation.
You'll work hands‑on across the full procurement lifecycle - from early engagement and planning, to market approaches, records management, contracting and ongoing supplier relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality procurement advice aligned with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and PGPA Act.
* Partner with business areas to identify procurement needs, encourage early engagement, and promote efficient, value‑for‑money outcomes.
* Create, maintain and manage procurement records using TechOne, BuyICT, and AusTender.
* Prepare and publish approaches to market, manage panel arrangements and meet reporting obligations.
* Develop clear, user‑friendly internal documentation that supports consistent procurement practice.
* Support stakeholders to ensure contracts are effectively managed and reported.
* Strengthen contract relationships between the agency and suppliers.
* Champion the organisation's strategic vision, values and commitments, including safe and inclusive work practices.
Required Skills & Experience
* Demonstrated experience using TechOne, AusTender and BuyICT.
* Strong understanding and training in the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and PGPA Act compliance.
* Proven ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders and provide trusted procurement advice.
* Excellent record management and documentation skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Highly Desirable
* Progression toward, or completion of, a Certificate IV or Diploma in Government Procurement and Contracting.
* Experience operating within Federal Government environments.
