Strengthen governance, contracts and compliance within a purpose-driven environmental organisation
The Burnett Mary Regional Group (BMRG) is seeking a detail-oriented Business Assurance Lead to strengthen governance, risk management and operational systems as the organisation continues to grow.
This role sits within the Business Operations Team and ensures BMRG's projects are supported by strong contract management, procurement governance, workplace health and safety (WHS), and compliance systems.
You'll work closely with Project Managers and the Leadership Team to ensure subcontractor agreements, procurement processes and compliance obligations are managed consistently and in line with funding agreements, legislation, and BMRG policies.
If you enjoy bringing structure, clarity and confidence to complex operational environments and want your work to support meaningful environmental outcomes, this role offers a unique opportunity.
About the Role
The Business Assurance Lead oversees contract administration, procurement governance, compliance systems and workplace health and safety (WHS) frameworks across the organisation.
As part of the Business Operations Team, you will work closely with Project Managers and the Leadership Team to ensure subcontractor agreements, funding obligations and procurement processes are managed consistently and in line with legislative, contractual and organisational requirements.
You will act as BMRG's internal subject matter expert for contracts, compliance and risk, providing practical guidance to teams while strengthening the systems, policies and processes that support high-quality project delivery. This includes maintaining the organisation's contract register, overseeing procurement due diligence, supporting WHS governance and ensuring documentation and systems remain audit-ready.
A key part of the role is building internal capability by helping teams understand contract obligations, strengthen compliance practices and embed consistent operational standards across the organisation.
Through this work, you will help ensure BMRG maintains strong governance, manages risk effectively and continues delivering high-quality environmental programs across the Burnett Mary region.
About You
You're an experienced professional who enjoys building systems that help organisations operate smoothly and manage risk effectively.
You're comfortable working across contracts, compliance and WHS, and you're able to translate complex requirements into clear, practical guidance for teams.
You take a proactive approach, work well independently, and build strong working relationships across diverse teams.
