DESIGNA has manufactured “off-street” parking access control and revenue generating hardware and software for more than 70 years and has more than 17,000 installations globally. Our products are used in Airports, Shopping Centres, Mixed use developments, Hospitals, Hotels, Council parking facilities, Universities & Sea Ports.
Our products include entry control terminals, parking barriers, exit control terminals, license plate recognition technology, automatic pay stations, discount validators, mobile applications & database driven software designed to control every aspect of off-street parking requirements. We have on-premises server or cloud-based software solutions, depending on our client's requirements.
In Australia & NZ, we design solutions – tailoring our suite of products around our clients’ needs and supply, install, repair and maintain parking systems manufactured by DESIGNA.
About the role As IT professional at DESIGNA Australia, you will be responsible for new implementations covering all aspects required to facilitate secure connections between our client sites and cloud environments in the public and private space. Also providing technical support and maintenance services to our clients across the region you are based in. Currently we have a position primarily based in SA but are open to flexibility based on the appropriate candidate.

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Professional with a customer centric culture and strong communication skills, proficient in English to join our dynamic team in Glynde, SA. The ideal candidate should also have a good understanding of electromechanics and the industries interoperation with software systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain complex wide area networks (WAN) and cloud-based systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to parking systems and infrastructure.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and improve existing systems.
Ensure the security and reliability of all IT systems and data.
Provide technical support and training to staff as needed.
Qualifications, Capabilities:
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and scalable network infrastructures. They should be proficient in both on-premises and cloud-based networking environments and capable of troubleshooting complex network issues.
Key Qualifications:
Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF)
Experience with firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless access points (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Ubiquiti)
Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, Nagios)
Knowledge of network security best practices, including IDS/IPS, segmentation, and zero-trust architecture
Experience with cloud networking (AWS VPCs, Azure VNets, hybrid cloud setups)
Ability to document network topologies and create detailed network diagrams
Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, AWS Networking Specialty) are a plus
Preferred Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Clear communication, especially when explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Minimum of 5 years of experience.
Strong electromechanical background with a solid understanding of electronics.
Expertise in wide area networking and cloud-based systems.
Strong background in SQL databases and administration thereof
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
