The Role As the Group Accountant, you will work closely with the CFO and take a hands-on approach to all aspects of the group's finance function. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident professional who thrives in a growing business and enjoys working autonomously and proactively. You'll be based in a bright and modern inner-city Melbourne office, just a short walk from public transport, and gain exposure to the full financial operations of a rapidly expanding property group. Prepare monthly management financial statements across the group Manage month-end reporting, including budget vs actuals, loan accounts, and cash flow forecasting Handle BAS, PAYG, and all statutory reporting requirements Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and account reconciliations Process monthly payroll Assist external auditors and tax consultants with year-end financials and tax returns Support group-wide cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting activities Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and systems Maintain various financial and statutory registers across entities Oversee and mentor a junior finance team member Collaborate with project teams to provide timely and accurate project financial reporting Your Profile 3-4 years' experience in public practice (e.g. business services or audit) CA or CPA qualified (or near completion) Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently Excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset A genuine interest in the property, construction, or development sector Experience in Xero or similar cloud-based accounting platforms is advantageous What you can expect: Be part of a tight-knit, family-led business with strong values and long-term vision Work alongside an experienced CFO and gain valuable commercial experience Exposure to large-scale, meaningful development projects across Australia Fast-paced, supportive, and collaborative team culture Inner-city office with modern amenities and easy access to public transport Real career growth as the business continues to expand If you're ready to take the next step in your accounting career and want to play a key role in a fast-growing property group, we'd love to hear from you.
