In this role you will play a pivotal role in fostering positive relationships with residents, local organisations, and stakeholders, ensuring that the City's community development objectives are met through inclusive, collaborative, and evidence-based approaches.
What you will be doing
* Lead the delivery and evaluation of community development strategies and policies.
* Build strong partnerships with local organisations, leaders, and stakeholders.
* Develop and deliver projects and programs that promote wellbeing, inclusion, and resilience.
* Represent the City at regional and state-level forums, advocating for community priorities.
* Identify new opportunities and shape policies that respond to the community's evolving needs.
What you will need
* Comprehensive understanding of modern community development practice.
* Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities.
* A confident and inspiring communication style.
* Experience engaging communities, facilitating forums, and building trust.
* A passion for empowering others and making a meaningful difference.
What you will bring
* Tertiary qualification in Community Development, Social Science or relevant field, or substantial relevant experience.
* Experience in a regional local government setting.
* National (or Federal) Police Certificate (no more than 6 months old)
