The Southport School is a leading Anglican School for boys offering an OSHC program as part of its Long Day Care service.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Group Leader (or higher) qualified Early Childhood Educator to work alongside the OSHC team leader and Director of Preschool to deliver the OSHC and vacation care program for boys aged 4‐9 years. The position commences 19 June 2026.
Hours & Contract
* Weekday shifts (Monday to Friday, term time) 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm in OSHC – Part Time, Term Time Contract
* Additional contract hours available in Vacation Care (Monday to Friday, school holidays): 7 am – 3 pm or 10 am – 6 pm depending on roster
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, develop, implement and evaluate developmentally appropriate programs and documentation.
* Guide and support a team and support children with their behavioural needs.
* Respond to unforeseen accidents, incidents and emergencies.
Key Qualifications
* Self‐motivated, with effective consultative, interpersonal, and supervisory skills.
* Experience interacting with groups of children from 5‐12 years in a positive, sensitive and respectful manner.
* Strong skills in guiding a team and supporting children with their behavioural needs.
* Ability to handle and respond to unforeseen accidents, incidents and emergencies.
* Act professionally towards resolution of any conflict that may arise.
* Solid knowledge and understanding of the National Quality Framework, My Time Our Place and the Education and Care National Regulations and Act.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Well‐developed emotional intelligence to remain calm and composed at all times.
* Ability to positively build effective working relationships with stakeholders.
* Working knowledge of Xplor.
Requirements
* Current Paid Blue Card.
* Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.
* Certified supervisor certificate (for Group Leader) is preferable.
* Current first‐aid certificate including CPR.
* National Criminal History Check.
