Carmichael College OSHC is a faith‑based, Christian non‑profit centre. It offers Before and After School Care, as well as Vacation Care. Our service adheres to and promotes the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and Cultural Safety, aiming to create a safe environment that supports children's well‑being.
Role Summary
The OSHC Assistant Coordinator supports the OSHC Service Coordinator in managing the service. Key responsibilities include:
* Support educators and staff with professional training and mentoring to effectively manage the service
* Assist the OSHC Service Coordinator and OSHC Educational Leader in the effective delivery of the service
* Provide high‑quality early childhood education and care service
* Help the OSHC Service Coordinator ensure the early childhood program meets the goals of the approved learning framework (My Time Our Place)
* Foster trusting relationships between children, families and staff
* Act as OSHC Service Coordinator / Nominated Supervisor in the absence of the OSHC Service Coordinator / Nominated Supervisor
* Uphold the Christian values of a faith‑based OSHC service
Qualifications
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a leadership position in an Out of School Hours Care service
* Current Senior First Aid Certificate, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
* Current and valid Blue Card
* Highly developed written and verbal communication / presentation skills
* Ability to self‑manage and meet timelines
* Knowledge of My Time Our Place and the National Standards is essential
* Diploma qualification or equivalent in OSHC / Early Childhood Education is desirable
* Christian values and respect for the delivery of faith‑based curriculum within the service
