Our Organisation

At Benevolent we believe that every person deserves to live life on their own terms - loved, valued, and treated with dignity. For more than two centuries, The Benevolent Society has stood for that belief.

Our vison is for a just society where everyone is valued, safe and belongs. We're not for profit, independent, non-religious, and deeply committed to reconciliation.

Your new role

Funded by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) and delivered in line with evidence‐based best practice, the Early Childhood Approach (ECA) program is designed to provide a range of flexible and responsive supports for children under 9 years with developmental delay or disability. ECA focuses on family‐centred practices and supports greater inclusion. If you're excited by variety, momentum and making a real impact, you'll fit right in, as this evolving industry needs your leadership to drive key change.

You will lead a dedicated team of Child Development Specialists who are responsible for gathering information on children's development and linking families and children with developmental concerns and disabilities with the most appropriate supports. Through clear and focused leadership, professional supervision and practice guidance, you will support your team to provide services in the Brisbane area.

What you'll get to do:
* Lead your team confidently and with empathy through a fast‐paced and evolving environment, championing key change initiatives with clarity and purpose.
* Quickly understand and adopt new technology, legislative or system changes, then translate these into clear, practical processes that support both client needs and staff workflows.
* Work alongside families with complex needs using strong risk‐management practices, thoughtful debriefing, and ongoing support to ensure safety, stability, and positive outcomes.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within your team, building community partnerships and strengthening coordination of services for families.
* Demonstrate strong empathy and awareness of how change impacts both clients and staff, ensuring transitions are well‐communicated, well‐supported, and trauma‐informed.
* Flexibility & Wellbeing – Enjoy hybrid work options, monthly ADOs (12 extra days off per year), Fitness Passport access, EAP support, and the option to purchase additional leave.
* Salary Packaging & Perks – Maximise your take‐home pay with up to $15,900 in salary packaging and vehicle packaging options to suit your lifestyle.
* Recognition & Growth – Competitive pay, service rewards, long service leave after 5 years, and tailored professional development opportunities.
* Cultural Inclusion – Dedicated cultural leave and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees, including leadership pathways and networking groups.
What you'll bring:
* Demonstrated people‐leadership experience with the ability to guide, mentor, and develop a high‐performing team that consistently delivers excellent client outcomes.
* Clear, confident, and empathetic communication skills that build trust, strengthen team cohesion, and ensure staff are working towards shared goals.
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Allied Health, Psychology, or related human‐service discipline.
* Strong collaboration skills with the ability to engage, influence, and build positive relationships with internal colleagues, external partners, and community stakeholders.
* Highly adaptive, responsive, and technology‐confident, with the ability to quickly learn new systems, interpret change impacts, and support your team through process or system updates with clarity and care.

If you identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, then we want to hear from you. The Benevolent Society recognises and values cultural knowledge and wisdom of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, we therefore strongly encourage you to apply. We are strongly committed to being an Employer of Choice, one who offers, provides, and practices cultural safety in our workplace.
