Choices And Rights is seeking passionate and dedicated Female Disability Support Workers to join our team in Caboolture.
In this casual role you'll support individuals living with disabilities, helping them live independently, safely and meaningfully within the community.
Scope of Support
Behaviours of concern (physical aggression, absconding, property damage)
Use of physical, environmental, and chemical restraints as outlined in their Positive Behaviour Support Plan (PBSP)
A history of sexualised behaviours of concern (support worker must be female only)
Current risk assessments in place, including containment under review
Responsibilities
Support clients with daily living tasks (personal care, meals, cleaning)
Engage clients in social, community, and recreational activities
Follow behaviour support plans, including safe and appropriate use of approved interventions
Document progress and report incidents accurately
Ensure clients' rights and dignity are upheld at all times
Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
Qualifications and Experience
Certificate III or IV in Disability Support (or willing to obtain)
Experience supporting individuals with high and complex needs
Female applicants only – strictly no male staff due to participant's behavioural history
Training in physical restraint or willingness to undergo relevant training
Understanding of positive behaviour support frameworks
Strong communication, patience, and empathy
Ability to stay calm under pressure and respond to challenging behaviours
Current driver's licence and access to reliable transport
