The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead the coordination and integration of multidisciplinary design activities across major transport and infrastructure projects. This role is central to ensuring our project teams deliver high‐quality, safe and constructible designs that support efficient delivery through the construction phase.
You will work closely with technical and project leaders to maintain strong design management practices, uplift capability across teams, strengthen client relationships and contribute to strategic pursuits. You will also play a key role in embedding safety in design, driving risk‐management processes and ensuring consistent project controls and delivery frameworks across large and complex projects.
Your leadership will help shape project outcomes, develop emerging talent and reinforce WSP's position as a trusted advisor to clients across the infrastructure sector. This role can be based from our Brisbane or Sunshine Coast office locations.
About You
* Extensive experience, typically 20 years or more, working across major engineering design projects and at least 5 years in construction‐related environments.
* A proven ability to lead large multidisciplinary teams and deliver high‐profile projects with design fees of $10 million or more.
* Strong knowledge of design management processes, construction methodologies, design risk management and safety in design.
* Experience establishing and managing complex design systems, quality frameworks and verification processes.
* A track record of building strong client relationships and working collaboratively across joint ventures, alliances or multidisciplinary project environments.
* High‐level communication skills, commercial awareness and experience with digital delivery tools and EDMS platforms.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications and leadership or safety training.
