Location:
Port Hedland Workshop Based Role.
Position is available for Local Port Hedland.
- May consider FIFO for the right candidate (Perth only - Roster discussed).
Roster:
5/2/4/3 - Dayshift only
Renumeration:
$180,000 - $200,000 per annum.

Job Description:
Lead a team of high‑performing HD Mechanics at a time when Finmec is entering an exciting growth phase across the Pilbara. This role gives you the stability of a long‑term job security, a strong team culture, and the rare opportunity to put your own stamp on a department that's expanding, modernising, and lifting its standards. * Plan, organise, direct, and control team.
* Oversee the management of jobs and manage jobs in your workflow.
* Ensuring the purchasing of materials, fixings and fastenings and machine tools to ensure the smooth progression of projects through the workshop.
* Ensure warranty processes and requirements are completed on manufactures repairs.
* Ensuring all repairs are completed in a cost efficient, timely and safe manner with all relevant paperwork complete.
* Complete accounts receivable invoicing approval.
* Meet targets for chargeable labour.
* Controlling of contractors employed by Finmec to work in a safe & competent manner and up to Finmec WHS standards and Workshop Minimum Standards.
* Dealing with external companies in relation to jobs in workshop and external workshops.
* Arranging times for contractors to come in and complete repairs.
* Dealing with internal communications and employees.
* Mentoring, dispute resolution and performance management of team.
* Build relationship with clients and communicate professionally in relation to jobs in workshop and external sites.
* Attend all meetings on and off site as required.
* Regularly sign off tradesmen timesheets ensuring they are completed correctly.
* Run morning toolbox meetings.
* Ensure a safe work environment is always maintained and maintain a strong safety culture in accordance with Finmec HSE policy or clients site safety policy.
* Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the Maintenance Superintendent.
About you:
* Trade Qualification as an Australian recognised Heavy Diesel Mechanic.
* Certificate IV in Leadership & Management (BSB40520) (Desirable).
* Incident Investigation Training (ICAM) (Desirable).
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in related sectors.
* Extensive experience in the maintenance of Earthmoving equipment.
* Experience in planning and scheduling.
* Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the team.
* Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
* Firm understanding of safety in the industry.
* Proactive and highly motivated.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* A high attention to detail and level of accuracy.
* High level of computing skill in the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
* Ability to handle a multitude of tasks with conflicting timelines.
* Current HR (Desirable).
* Ability to pass a mine site induction at any time or appropriate for work requirement i.e., drug and alcohol free and fit for work in all ways.
