Job Title: Regional Planning and Rostering Specialist
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Planning and Rostering Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing and publishing rosters for our homes.
You will ensure efficient staff deployment by analyzing and designing rostering strategies that align with our organizational goals and comply with business rules, safety protocols, and relevant legislation.
A key aspect of this role is forecasting to develop capacity plans for the region, producing optimised rosters up to 12 months in advance.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement strategic rostering plans that align with our organizational goals
* Analyze historical data and forecast future staffing needs based on demand patterns, trends, and business requirements to ensure accurate and timely staffing
* Continuously review and optimize rostering processes to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance staff satisfaction within designated regions
* Review and manage leave requests as well as track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to rostering and staffing, making data-driven decisions to improve performance
* Engage with key stakeholders and provide regular updates
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Demonstrated experience using human resources software, including creating and adjusting staff schedules, managing shift changes, monitoring compliance requirements, and supporting operational teams with roster-related queries
* A degree in a related field such as business administration, human resources, data science, or operations management is desirable, and any relevant certifications would be advantageous
* Experience in understanding rostering and resource planning processes, theories, and methodologies
* Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience in applying industrial, regulatory rules or enterprise agreements within a business
* A high level of prioritization, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills and ability to 'think outside the box' and to work within multiple/conflicting time constraints
* Ability to analyze complex data sets and identify trends and patterns
* Practical experience with rostering or workforce management software and strong verbal and written communication skills
