We seek to appoint a highly-motivated Associate Lecturer (Education Focused) in Epidemiology and Biostatistics to make a significant contribution to delivery of postgraduate biostatistics and epidemiology courses within our Public Health programs.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
* undertake teaching in introductory core and intermediate elective units of study in epidemiology and biostatistics, contributing to outstanding teaching and learning outcomes
* assist in the coordination and administration of epidemiology and biostatistics postgraduate units of study, involving tasks such as liaising with tutors and organising tutorial programs
* engage in high-quality teaching and learning experiences which meet the University's expectations and standards for education
* assist in the development and review of teaching materials including reading materials, tutorial resources, and on-line learning sites
* assist in the development and marking of assessments
* carry out administrative tasks primarily connected with the area of discipline.
* contribute to a positive workplace culture in which diversity of thought, contribution, collaboration, excellence and achieving outcomes are valued and enabled.
* undertake other duties appropriate within the classification level as required
About you
* Master of Public Health, Master of Global Health, or equivalent qualification (or nearing completion)
* sound knowledge of both epidemiology and biostatistics, including completion of core and at least some advanced units in biostatistics and epidemiology in an MPH or equivalent program
* experience in teaching epidemiology and biostatistics- tutoring, lecturing, student supervision or equivalent (desirable)
* excellent verbal and written communication skills
* ability to work as part of a team as well as to work independently
* ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines and be highly organized, with excellent attention to detail
* experience in conducting original research and/or engaging in scholarly activity such as completion of academic coursework and projects associated with this study (desirable)
* understanding of contemporary pedagogical practice and design (desirable)
* administrative experience (desirable).
