Aboriginal Care Professional
The role of the Aboriginal Care Professional is to deliver high-quality support services to clients and their families, promoting social and emotional wellbeing.
This position works with individuals in community and residential programs who may be experiencing difficulties related to alcohol and other drugs (AOD), chronic disease, mental health illnesses, domestic and family violence, housing, and other health and social issues.
* Provide personalized support to clients and their families to address their unique needs.
* Work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and support.
* Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress.
* Contribute to a safe and respectful work environment.
* Be of Australian Aboriginal descent and accepted as an Aboriginal person by the local community.
* Hold a Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs or a related field such as Mental Health, Aboriginal Health, Community Services, Allied Health Assistance, or Social Care.
* Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of social and emotional wellbeing needs and issues of Aboriginal people.
* Have proven experience working with Aboriginal clients and managing a caseload.
* Be able to effectively communicate with stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
* Possess a current unrestricted NT Drivers Licence.
