The Role Statement
The Assistant Director – Marketing is responsible for leading the development and execution of integrated marketing and event strategies that drive brand visibility, lead generation, and client engagement across all segments in the Australian market. The role also supports broader initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region, ensuring alignment with Moody’s global marketing objectives and regional business priorities. This role will explicitly support events for Moody’s Investors Service (MIS) and have a demand generation focus for Moody’s Analytics (MA).
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Marketing & Demand Generation
* Design and implement a multi-channel marketing strategy tailored to the Australian market, aligned with APAC-wide commercial goals.
* Define Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs), personas, and messaging in collaboration with commercial strategists and campaign managers.
* Lead demand generation initiatives across digital, content, and event channels to drive pipeline growth and accelerate the sales cycle.
* Support content creation as part of demand generation and campaign initiatives.
* Leverage marketing automation platforms (e.g., Marketo) and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) to manage campaigns, track performance, and optimize ROI.
* Collaborate with global and regional teams to ensure consistent brand messaging and campaign execution across APAC.
Event Management & Outreach
* Plan and execute a range of in-person and virtual events, including conferences, roundtables, webinars, and sponsored events, with a strong focus on the Australian market.
* Manage all aspects of event logistics: venue sourcing, vendor negotiation, catering, AV, collateral, and on-site execution.
* Develop event marketing plans including audience targeting, invitation content, promotional materials, and post-event follow-up.
* Ensure flawless execution and high attendee satisfaction through meticulous planning and stakeholder coordination.
Analytics & Reporting
* Track and report on campaign and event performance using KPIs and analytics dashboards.
* Provide insights and recommendations to improve future marketing and event initiatives.
* Maintain accurate records of marketing and event data in internal systems.
Qualifications
* Minimum 5 years of experience in B2B marketing and event management, with a strong focus on the Australian market.
* Exposure to or experience working within the broader Asian financial marketplace is highly desirable.
* Proven experience in demand generation, digital marketing, and end-to-end event execution.
* Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Familiarity with marketing automation platforms (e.g., Marketo), CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), and Microsoft Office preferred.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
