Chinchilla/Western Downs role at Tesla What To ExpectTesla is seeking experienced electrical technicians to maintain and service utility-scale battery sites, primarily working on the Tesla Megapack battery storage product. In this role, you will join the technician team supporting battery storage sites located within the Western Downs/Chinchilla region, to service, troubleshoot, or upgrade medium to high voltage equipment.
Applicants should be self-motivated team players with a positive attitude, who see this as an opportunity to begin building a career with Tesla in the renewable energy infrastructure sector. You will be part of a high-performing and tight-knit team on site.
Please note this position will primarily be based within the Western Downs/Chinchilla region, however occasional travel to support other regional sites may be required.
What You'll DoTroubleshoot and repair equipment as defined by the service engineering teamPerform complex and precise electro-mechanical debug, rework, and repairPerform tasks requiring a high level of skill and patienceWork comfortably with Medium and High Voltage environments while maintaining a safety focusOperate a variety of hand tools, power tools, and LV/MV/HV test equipment for diagnosis and troubleshootingDevelop and follow best practices and procedures for maintenance activities related to Tesla Energy equipmentMaintain high levels of communication and feedback within the Tesla Energy service organization; prepare daily updates of work completed, problems identified, and future timelinesSupport outside your region and possibly outside the country as requiredPerform other related duties as assigned to support growth and diversityActively work across Powerpack and Megapack Utility sites, ensuring operations & maintenance requirements are met and maintaining a healthy fleetWhat You'll BringCertified Electrician (Cert III (3)+ in Electrical/Electro Technology)Minimum 5 years' experience, with at least 3 years' electrical experience within the Utility sector (Solar/Wind experience preferred)Up-to-date Electrical Registration/LicenseHV switching certification and experienceSCADA operating experience (a plus)Ability to work from complex documentation and instructionsStrong computer skills, including proprietary and OEM softwareEffective communication skills in a mobile office settingAbility to read electrical diagrams, mechanical drawings, and manufacturing instructionsReliability, initiative, commitment, and a focus on qualityWillingness to work outdoors, occasionally on the road at unusual hoursValid driver's licenseKnowledge of operation and maintenance of various tools and test equipmentAbility to establish cooperative working relationships and handle multiple prioritiesProfessional integrity and appearanceSeniority levelMid-Senior level
