About the Position
We have an excellent career opportunity for an Assistant Professor A First Nations Health to contribute to the teaching, coordination and organisation, resource development, student support, and assessment in the faculty wide First Nations Health Program. Assistant Professor A equates to Senior Lecturer level in public universities.
Bond University’s Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine has a multi-disciplinary base across a range of programs including Medicine, Biomedical and Health Sciences, Nutrition and Dietetic Practice, Exercise and Sports Science, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Healthcare Innovations. The University and the Faculty recognise the importance for our students in developing an understanding of First Nations health including a depth of understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.
With the leadership of Professor Shane Hearn, First Nations Health, this position will:
* Conduct high-quality research and scholarship that advances the knowledge and practice of First Nations and/or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.
* Contribute to curriculum development, assessment, teaching, and service in the faculty with a focus on First Nations Health.
* Develop and deliver innovative and culturally responsive curriculum, assessment, and teaching in First Nations Health.
* Benefit from the support and guidance of the Indigenous Staff Network and the Nyombil Centre. You will have access to mentoring, professional development, and cultural resources that will enhance your career and personal growth.
About the Person
To be considered for this position:
* It is essential that the person who holds this position be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 that applicants are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders.
* Holds a PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
* Developing track record of effective teaching, research, and academic administration within the higher education sector in a First Nations health and education context.
* Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work in teams with academics from multiple disciplines is essential.
Salary details
The salary for the position commences at $160,204 plus 11.5% superannuation per annum. Salary packaging options are available.
