A senior economist is required to act as an interface between different teams, responsible for running economics associated with the APLNG business. This includes supporting delivery of operated and non-operated developments, new commercial opportunities, and exploration.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead economic valuation of complex business initiatives:
using stochastic modelling tools to provide strategic financial analysis and insights to support key decision-making.

Provide timely and accurate economic and financial information:
to support the development of negotiation strategies and contribute to the overall growth and success of the team.

Develop and present clear, concise economic and financial reports:
to various stakeholders, including joint venture partners and corporate leadership.
">
Collaborate across cross-functional teams:
to develop and implement economic analysis systems and lead project benefits reviews.

Requirements:

Extensive experience:
in a senior economist role, ideally within the upstream oil and gas sector.

Deep understanding of global and Australian macroeconomic drivers:
within the industry.

Formal tertiary qualification:
in finance, economics, or engineering, with a master's degree or higher preferred.

Strong track record:
of influencing complex economic decisions and strategic planning within an operating asset environment.

Expert abilities in Excel:
and a comprehensive understanding of the entire oil and gas value chain, from exploration to operations.

Highly developed communication and people skills:
to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
