Position Overview
As the Senior General Practitioner in the Kutjungka Region, you will be a cornerstone of healthcare delivery in the communities of Balgo, Mulan, and Billiluna. Your role transcends conventional medical practise; you will engage with communities, enhance service delivery, and mentor the next generation of healthcare professionals.
You'll work in harmony with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring that our health services not only meet but exceed best practise standards. This Senior GP role is designed to balance meaningful community engagement with flexible working arrangements:
4 Weeks On-Site in the Kutjungka Region
- Deliver hands-on care in a remote Aboriginal community
- Work within a close-knit clinical team
- Includes 24/7 on-call responsibilities
- Receive 25% availability allowance during this period
8 Weeks support in other clinics
- Assist our broader clinic network onsite in another remote community or via telehealth
- Work from Broome, another community, or your home anywhere in Australia
- No 24/7 on-call required during this phase
- Participate in our on-call roster
- Receive $300/day allowance when rostered as first on-call
- 25% availability allowance does not apply during this phase
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Senior General Practitioner who thrives in a collaborative environment and shares our commitment to Aboriginal health. You’ll need to resonate with the values of community-controlled healthcare and embrace the cultural richness of the Kimberley.
- Registered to practise in WA with at least 5 years of experience in general practise or primary health care.
- Emergency management training, particularly in remote settings.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with Aboriginal communities.
- A valid “C” class driver’s licence and the capability to drive a 4WD vehicle.

Salary & Benefits
We value your expertise and commitment to community health, which is why we offer a competitive base salary of $316,823 plus a 25% availability allowance (when in Kutjungka Region), $300 per day when first on call while supporting other clinics, leave entitlements, superannuation, salary packaging, accommodation (in community) and flights are provided!
