Overview
At Tenacious House, part of Richmind WA, we support men navigating mental health challenges and life-controlling issues to rebuild their lives. We're looking for a committed and compassionate
Registered Nurse - Mental Health
to provide expert clinical care, contribute to care plans, and work in partnership with a dedicated team to deliver lasting recovery outcomes. This is a part-time on-site role at Tenacious House, 2 days per week.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments including risk assessments
Support with alcohol and other drugs (AOD) withdrawal alongside the Tenacious House team
Develop and implement care plans, including psychosocial interventions
Monitor and manage medications, liaising with GPs and AOD specialists
Deliver evidence-based mental health nursing support and collaborate with support staff
Provide education about mental health and referrals to external mental health services
Maintain accurate, compliant documentation
Contribute to service improvement and clinical standards
Maintain AHPRA registration and CPD
Qualifications and Certificates
Approved tertiary qualification in Nursing
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
Post-graduate qualification in Mental Health and/or Addictions is desirable
Current National Police Clearance (no older than 6 months)
First Aid and CPR certificates: HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid, HLTAID010 - Provide Basic Emergency Life Support, HLTAID009 - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Working with Children Check
Driver's license
Skills and Experience
Previous experience in a mental health setting
Clinical assessments, risk assessment, and care plan development within mental health and AOD practice
Knowledge of AOD withdrawal symptoms and related care
Knowledge of current psychiatric medications and medication management
Understanding and application of recovery principles when supporting consumers
Well-developed communication, conflict resolution, negotiation and problem-solving skills
Ability to work autonomously and in an operational team
Proficiency with client databases and Microsoft Office
Desirable
Lived experience of mental health recovery or as a family member of someone with lived experience is desirable
Part-time details
This role is part-time, offering 2 days per week at Tenacious House.
