Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to join our organisation. This role will bring expertise and discipline to purchasing, ensuring data accuracy, reducing duplication, and negotiating effectively with suppliers to deliver reliable, cost-effective supply of materials and consumables.

Key Responsibilities
* Work closely with internal stakeholders to align purchasing with operational needs.
* Raise and manage purchase orders for raw materials, consumables, tooling, PPE, and services to support production.
* Receipt goods into the system in a timely manner and ensure accurate, traceable data capture.
* Maintain supplier and parts databases, supporting data clean-up and system accuracy in line with aerospace and defence requirements.
* Forecast lead times and communicate potential delays early to minimise impact on production schedules.
* Source and evaluate suppliers to achieve value for money, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
* Monitor supplier and inventory performance (quality, delivery, cost, accuracy) and escalate issues where required.
* Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to optimise cost and minimise supply risk.
* Ensure supplier compliance with standards including ISO, AS9100, ITAR, ESG, and modern slavery obligations.
* Support the development and rollout of improved purchasing policies, procedures, and reporting.
* Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, quality certifications, and legal obligations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Proven Experience: Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Organisational Skills: Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Communication Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
Problem-Solving: A proactive approach to problem-solving and supplier relationship management.
Negotiation Skills: Negotiation skills with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Desirable Skills: Experience in manufacturing environments and familiarity with Power BI desirable.
