Job Summary
School Crossing Supervisor – Part time – Ballina Public School
Responsibilities
* Supervise school crossing zones during school hours (8:30–9:30 AM and 2:45–3:45 PM, Monday to Friday).
* Provide a consistent and visible presence to ensure the safety of students, parents, teachers, and local motorists.
* Maintain communication with school staff and transport team as required.
* Handle 20 hours of supervising per fortnight, including compensation during school holidays (Terms 1–3).
* Display alertness to potential dangers and respond appropriately.
* Assist with community relationship building and safety message delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum age of 18 years at the time of appointment.
* Reliable, committed, and able to work in all weather conditions.
* Effective communication skills and strong situational awareness.
* Willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check, reference checks, police check, and health assessment (support provided if not already completed).
* Experience with community engagement is an advantage (not required).
Benefits & Compensation
* Hourly rate of $26.43 plus superannuation.
