RCT is seeking a proactive and experienced Health, Safety & Environment Advisor to join our team based at our Head Office in Kewdale.

The HSE Advisor is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization's Work Health and Safety Management Systems. This role ensures compliance with HSE legislation across all Australian states in which RCT operates (WA, QLD, VIC, SA, TAS, NSW), in addition to international work undertaken.

This position is critical in fostering a safe and healthy work environment by providing expert advice, guidance, and support to management and employees. The HSE Advisor will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture by engaging with employees and leaders, driving initiatives that enhance the health, safety and wellbeing of our workforce, and ensuring RCT maintains its commitment to global best practice standards.


Key Responsibilities

* Implement and maintain RCT's HSEMS in line with ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 requirements.
* Develop, maintain and review HSE policies, procedures and practices in line with legislative and RCT/Epiroc requirements.
* Promote a proactive safety culture through engagement, education and Epiroc's behavior-based initiatives.
* Monitor compliance with RCT's Safety Management Systems and regulatory requirements through internal audits.
* Act as a key point of contact for HSE-related matters, providing accurate advice and support aligned to policies and relevant legislative guidelines, including psychosocial safety.
* Undertake and oversee HSE audit and inspection activities.
* Upskill employees on HSE matters such as identifying, assessing and controlling risks (using JHA, Take 5, SWMS), while building awareness of the importance of incident and hazard reporting.
* Implement a VOC process.
* Maintain and develop the RCT HSE management system, Momentum.
* Identify hazards, conduct incident investigations and provide corrective action recommendations.
* Maintain RCT's risk register and oversee corrective actions, regularly reviewing the effectiveness of controls.
* Contribute to planning and identifying opportunities for improvement.
* Provide and coordinate relevant training and support to continuously improve safety performance.
* Maintain the HSE training matrix and ensure regulatory compliance.
* Develop and facilitate the company's HSE induction program.
* Develop and deliver (in collaboration with Leaders) regular HSE Toolbox Talks.
* Manage return-to-work programs for both work and non-work-related injuries and oversee workers' compensation claims.
* Compile monthly HSE statistics and performance reports for management and global Epiroc reporting.
* Support the Global Operations Manager, HR Manager, and Global SHEQ Manager with all HSE matters.
* Participate in the Health & Safety Committee and other internal response functions (First Aid Officers, Fire Wardens).
* Liaise with industry bodies as required and remain up to date with HSE legislation changes.
* Undertake additional tasks as required.


About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:


Qualifications & Training

* Diploma or Degree in Work Health and Safety (essential).
* Additional qualifications desirable: Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, ICAM incident investigation, internal auditor training, or Mental Health First Aid.


Experience & Skills

* Minimum 4 years' experience in a similar HSE role.
* Strong understanding of HSE regulations, compliance frameworks, and process safety management.
* Demonstrated ability to conduct investigations, audits and hazard assessments.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare clear reports.
* Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with SharePoint and Teams desirable.
