The role
As An ASIC 4 Regulatory Assessment Analyst, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary national team responsible for efficiently assessing reports of misconduct, breach reports, statutory reports, and related matters.
* Flexible location: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth or Canberra
* Salary - $97,401, plus 15.4 % superannuation
* Permanent and temporary (12-month) positions

The team
The Regulatory Insights & Assessment (RI&A) team assesses and escalates reports of alleged misconduct and breach notifications received by ASIC from the public, regulated entities and liquidators. The team also assesses applications under the Assetless Administration Fund, undertakes action to disrupt investment scam websites and issues compliance correspondence to regulated entities.
Responsibilities
As An ASIC 4 Regulatory Assessment Analyst, You Will Apply Regulatory Judgement To Assess And Escalate Complex Misconduct Matters, Leading High Quality Analysis That Strengthens ASIC's Regulatory Response. You Will Also
* Review and assess complex misconduct, breach and statutory reports, applying strong regulatory judgement to identify risks and appropriate responses.
* Use your technical knowledge of legislative and regulatory frameworks to identify and escalate significant or high-risk issues.
* Draft complex assessments with well-reasoned recommendations and decisions.
* Lead or assist in complex inquiries, coordinating information gathering, engaging external parties, and exercising ASIC's compulsory powers where required.
* Conduct complex legal and regulatory research, synthesising insights into high-quality recommendations under the Corporations Act, ASIC Act and related legislation.
* Share knowledge and mentor junior staff, supporting capability development across the team.
About You
You are an experienced regulatory or legal professional who brings sound judgement, strong analytical capability, and confidence working with complex matters. You thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments and can translate technical information into clear, actionable insights. You're also someone who builds capability in others, contributing positively to a collaborative team culture.
To Succeed In This Role, You Will Also Bring
* Demonstrated experience in regulatory, legal, compliance, investigations, or related fields.
* An ability to interpret and apply legislation and regulatory processes, using analytical judgement in more complex scenarios.
* Proven experience in complex case management, ideally involving regulatory, compliance, investigations, or breach-related work.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to diverse audiences.
* The ability to perform under pressure, adapt to change, and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
* Experience coaching, mentoring or supporting junior staff to build capability.
* A relevant bachelor's degree in law, finance, accounting, business, commerce or economics.
