We have an opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our Railton site. Working as part of a team, you will safely perform maintenance activities across our cement manufacturing operations. This includes preventive and routine maintenance, planned maintenance days and corrective action work as it arises. Your Opportunity In this role you will:
* Work within all known site safety and environmental procedures, contributing to a positive safety culture
* Work in a workshop and fixed production plant environment
* Perform preventive and routine maintenance activities on a wide variety of fixed plant and equipment, including;
o Conveyors
o Pumps
o Gearboxes
o Crushers
o Ball Mills
o Hydraulics
o Pneumatics
* Perform workshop machining activities as part of major workshop refurbishments/overhauls
* Respond to breakdowns in a timely manner
* Ensure appropriate housekeeping during and on completion of maintenance tasks
* Be provided opportunities to coordinate scheduled maintenance outages and supervise small work groups (contractors) as required
* Have a day shift role, with the standard hours of work 7am- 3.30pm Monday to Friday. Elect to join the shift roster which rotates you to an afternoon shift every 8th week working 3pm- 11pm for a week.
What You'll Bring
* Mechanical Fitter / Boilermaker trade qualification
* Experience working in maintenance roles in heavy industry or mining
* A strong focus on safety and compliance
* Good problem-solving skills
* Self-starter with the ability to work well independently and in a team environment
