About the role
As the Mission Systems Solution Architect, you will work with a large and passionate team of technical experts focused on success. In this role you will be Technical Authority in the Mission Systems Team leading the System Definition and Design Phases for the JP9102 delivery. As an experienced Mission Systems Engineer you will contribute to the development and realisation of the JP9102 system design through the whole system delivery life-cycle. Working with the Program Manager, Senior Engineering leads and Industrial partners, you will ensure a coherent and feasible solution within schedule and cost constraints.
You will be expected to lead detailed technical discussions with multiple stakeholders including Customers, Partners, Business Lines and the campaign team, and lead the Qualification and Certification of the product.
**Some of your day-to-day activities will include**:
- Requirements definition from Stakeholder needs across the Mission System.
- Mission System level architectural definition and trade offs
- Defining the Operational and System level architecture within an Architectural Framework using appropriate modelling tools
- Produce the technical Work Breakdown Structure, the development schedule and technical risk management
- Technical inputs, ensuring all technical teams provide on-time, on-quality and on-cost deliverables
- Leading formal customer System Definition and Design Phases reviews to validate the architectural and design decisions;
- Technical support to the bid and program team both in the UK and Australia
- Systems Engineering and project management input as required to support planning, schedule and cost activities
- Regularly informing stakeholders on progress and problem resolutions.
This role is linked to JP9102 and ongoing tender, there will be a requirement for travel as part of this position.
About you
To be successful in this role, it is a requirement to be able to work in a high performing team environment, have good presentation, substantially developed relationship building skills as well as effective verbal and technical writing skills. You will need to be someone who is able to work autonomously and to tight deadlines and work comfortably in a continuous improvement work environment.
**The knowledge, skills and experience best suited to this role**:
- Tertiary qualified in Systems Engineering or other relevant field
- Advanced experience with system functions, requirements and architectural definition
- High level of experience with functional and operational analysis
- Business Improvement fundamental experience
- Ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders, gather customer requirements for evaluation, and build recommendations
- Experience managing and working within business processes
- Experience with Risk and Opportunity Management execution
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and customer satisfaction
