Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Residential Youth Support Worker to join our team in Geraldton.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting young people living in our residential care homes, working directly with children and young people to promote their goals and aspirations.
Main Responsibilities:
* Promote and assist young people to achieve goals identified in Individual Case Plans
* Support the development of independence and community networks among young people
* Facilitate activities that cater to the interests of the young person
* Establish rapport and collaborate effectively with young people to achieve positive outcomes
* Manage behavioural escalations and assist the young person to co-regulate emotionally
* Maintain domestic duties and support the young person to learn how to look after themselves (e.g., cooking, housework, laundry)
* Communicate with the care team and report incidents promptly and accurately
* Administer medication when required
* Maintain progress notes and records
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Certificate IV in Youth Work or relevant qualification
* Experience working with young people who have experienced significant trauma and neglect
* Excellent interpersonal skills with young people and stakeholders
* Demonstrate confidentiality and strong understanding of professional boundaries
* Experience working with young people from diverse cultural backgrounds
* Current Provide First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011)
* Current Driver's Licence
