Procurement Specialist

Responsibilities
* Negotiate favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers for the procurement of goods, services and supplies.
* Take responsibility for purchases in support of customer-related business processes or for internal use.
* Discuss defects and delivery problems with suppliers, and negotiate refunds.
* Coordinate with operations, maintenance, warehouse and engineering to ensure proper scheduling and movement of goods and supplies.
* Solve complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices.
* Develop and improve processes using experience and problem-solving skills.
* Provide guidance to less experienced team members.
* Review and approve supplier invoices with our Accounts Payable Department.
* Contribute to Supplier Performance Evaluations.
Requirements
* This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer-related information.
* A thorough understanding of FAR, DFARS and NAICS is required.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
* You must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to demonstrate strong time management skills.
* A working knowledge of MS Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint is necessary.
* You must have problem-solving skills to develop and improve processes.
* A security clearance or ability to obtain one is required.
