Senior Business Analyst - Japanese Speaking Preferred

We are currently recruiting for a motivated
Senior Business Analyst
with engineering experience in the past to join the Melbourne office of our client, a wholesale company embarking on a company-wide digital transformation. This newly created role will be instrumental in driving strategic IT initiatives, modernising core systems, and enabling operational excellence across the business.
The successful candidate will lead the development and execution of the IT transformation roadmap, manage complex system integration projects, and work closely with both executive stakeholders and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and analyse non-value-added tasks across the organisation and propose digital solutions to improve workflow efficiency and reduce manual workload.
Promote process automation and system integration to reduce manual workload and redirect resources to value-added tasks.
Develop and implement data analytics platforms that enable management and departments to make data-driven decisions and strategic plans.
Collaborate closely with the IT team to define system requirements from a business and user perspective, anticipating future data utilisation needs.
Lead digital literacy improvement initiatives across the organisation and promote a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Work closely with the Managing Director and department heads to align digital initiatives with business priorities and corporate strategy.
Evaluate, select, and manage external vendors or digital solution partners as required.
Required Experience
Minimum 5 years' experience in IT transformation, consulting, or enterprise system delivery
Proven experience in digital transformation, business process improvement, or project management (ideally in a commercial or retail sales environment).
Proficiency in Google Workspace, particularly Google Sheets, Looker Studio, BigQuery, or other data analysis/reporting tools.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration.
Finance Knowledge
Strategic mindset with hands-on execution ability.
Strong project management skills across cross-functional teams
Prior hands-on system engineering or technical experience is a plus
Experience working with executive-level stakeholders
Japanese language skills are preferred.
