Overview
The IT Support Officer is responsible for providing 1st Level Helpdesk and 2nd Level Desktop Support assistance throughout the Calvary Mater Newcastle and for all staff who have access to the CMN network and associated systems. Duties include the installation and operation of efficient and reliable information technology services to support safe patient care and corporate services provision.
Salary and employment details: Temporary Full-Time (to 28/12/2025). Salary Classification: Programmer-Gen Scale Year 1 - Year 6. Remuneration: $38.38 to $52.01 per hour range + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options.
Responsibilities
* Provide timely and effective desktop support services for the hospital
* Respond to enquiries relating to new account establishments and operations
* Assist users with systems lockout and password resets
* Log and manage all helpdesk jobs in accordance with local procedures
* Receive new IT equipment into the department and establish in the IT Asset database
What You Bring
* Relevant tertiary and/or industry qualifications and experience.
* Experience in a Desktop Support/Helpdesk Role.
* Extensive experience with hardware and software support.
* Broad experience with Windows based applications.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Ability to deal with users in a pleasant, patient and professional manner.
* Demonstrated communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. Able to work proficiently in periods of high demand and activity.
