AECOM's Adelaide office is looking for a motivated and highly experienced Design Manager to join the Civil Infrastructure team and further develop their experience in leading and delivering large roads, highways and rail projects in Adelaide and also throughout Australia, supported by a national major project delivery team. **Job Description**:
The Design Manager is crucial to the success of any major project, and you will be responsible for the overall design delivery including having the ultimate carriage on any technical decision as well as ensuring projects are delivered within the program.
You will be an excellent leader for your design team; proactively and passionately supporting our staff to achieve outstanding results for our clients. With an eye for the market and a collaborative personality, you will also drive a strong client-centric culture, helping to position our Adelaide Civil Infrastructure team for success with the large pipeline of infrastructure projects in SA.
This position offers excellent career growth potential and provides an opportunity for you to play an instrumental role in the Civil Infrastructure team, to develop and mentor the next generation of our staff. The Civil Infrastructure team offers a great culture to work among both locally and nationally.
Utilising your considerable experience, you will support relationships with existing clients and actively seek new business opportunities to build the AECOM brand across the region. Not only will you prepare submissions and bids for projects, as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will also contribute to a wide range of projects. You will have a proven track record of delivering medium to large roads and highways (and ideally rail) projects. Your previous experience working with South Australian (SA) Department for Infrastructure and Transport will be highly regarded.
**Qualifications**:
You will be a passionate individual who has extensive experience in major projects in the roads and highways (and ideally also rail) sector.
As a Design Manager within our Civil Infrastructure team you will possess some of the following:
+ Proven experience delivering a portfolio of significant road, and infrastructure projects within a multi-disciplinary team
+ Prior experience working with SA Department for Infrastructure and Transport
+ Demonstrated experience managing complex projects and meeting and exceeding delivery requirements, and leading under varying contractual arrangements such as D&C and alliance
+ Experience leading and mentoring a team of professionals to deliver exceptional service
+ Significant consulting/business knowledge, with major project and/or team management experience
+ Excellent knowledge of project management, and business management systems and procedures, and financial systems
+ Demonstrated commercial acumen, customer focus and business analysis skills
+ Strong client engagement and business development experience would be advantageous.
