Information Management Officer
Level 6 - $122,****** per annum + Housing Allowance & Utilities Support. Residential Role - Site Based | Permanent, Full-Time.
The Role
The Town of Port Hedland is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented information governance professional to join our team, reporting directly to the Senior Records & Information Officer.
In this pivotal role, you will lead the coordination of the Town's response to the Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act ****. You will support privacy and information sharing functions, drive the implementation of robust governance frameworks and manage key artefacts such as Privacy Impact Assessments, data flow maps, the Information Asset Register and classification policies across core systems. You will develop privacy-by-design practices, standardise data sharing agreements and deliver training to improve organisational capability.
Qualifications and Experience
Demonstrated experience in privacy, data protection, or information governance within the public sector (local, state or federal government desirable).
Strong working knowledge of the WA PRIS Act ****, State Records Act ****, and relevant standards.
Proven ability to manage Information Asset Registers and conduct PIAs/DPIAs.
Excellent facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills, with a knack for translating policy into practical processes.
Work Related Requirements
Working knowledge of WA PRIS Act ****, State Records Act ****, FOI Act **** and relevant standards (e.g., ISO ***********, ISO *****).
Current 'C' Class Driver's Licence.
