As a key leader within the Finance team, you will drive the delivery of high-quality financial accounting services across Council.
This is a hands-on, meaningful role where your expertise will directly enhance financial governance, strengthen compliance, uplift capability and support the long-term financial sustainability of the Noosa Shire.
Responsibilities
Annual financial statements & audit preparation
Statutory reporting & accounting standards
Treasury, cash flow, investments & debt management
Taxation (GST, FBT, Fuel Tax)
General ledger structure & data integrity
Asset accounting & financial systems
Internal controls, policy improvements & risk mitigation
Team leadership, capability building & continuous improvement
This is a role where your judgment, influence and leadership make a genuine difference.
About You
You're an experienced financial leader who brings:
Significant experience in financial accounting, statutory reporting and external audit management
Strong technical expertise across AASB standards, taxation and financial governance
The ability to lead and empower a skilled finance team
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
High-level ERP proficiency and confidence working with large, integrated financial datasets
A degree in accounting, commerce or a related field (CPA/CA highly regarded)
A passion for delivering excellence in public sector finance
