Quality Assurance Manager - Full Time - Maritime Domain
Are you a Quality Assurance professional with strong experience in technical, engineering or systems-driven environments? Join a leading global maritime defence organisation supporting complex, high integrity programs where quality, safety and performance are paramount. This role offers the opportunity to influence outcomes at a strategic level, drive continuous improvement and ensure excellence across major projects.
Your New Role:
In this key position, you will champion the organisation's Quality Policy and ensure effective quality practices are implemented throughout bids, projects and product lifecycles. Reporting to the Head of Quality, you will work closely with engineering, project and operational teams to ensure deliverables meet contractual, regulatory and internal standards. You will play a critical role in assuring compliance, identifying risks, guiding stakeholders on quality expectations, and supporting the certification and release of high integrity products. This is an independent and influential role requiring strong communication, strategic thinking and the ability to drive cultural ownership of quality across multidisciplinary teams.
Provide quality assurance leadership across bids, projects and product activities.
Ensure all activities comply with the organisation's quality management framework and industry standards.
Maintain customer confidence through proactive engagement with customer quality representatives and timely resolution of issues.
Facilitate root cause analysis (4D / 8D), corrective actions and preventive actions.
Support the conformity of project deliverables, declarations of conformity and product release processes.
Plan, support and contribute to internal, customer and third‑party audits (e.g., ISO 9001).
Utilise quality management systems/tools to manage, track and report quality matters.
Support the development and monitoring of audit plans, maturity assessments and performance reviews.
What you'll need to succeed
Australian Citizenship and ITAR compliance
Background in quality management within engineering, technical or systems‑focused environments.
Strong understanding of ISO 9001:2015 and associated quality management principles.
Experience conducting audits (Lead Auditor qualification desirable).
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders.
Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to challenge, guide and advise teams on quality expectations.
Tertiary qualifications in engineering or a related technical field (highly regarded).
