Counsellor & Group Facilitator | Men Choosing Change | Caboolture

- Employment Term: Permanent Part-Time (60.8 hours per fortnight)

- Location: Caboolture

- Remuneration: $51 per hour + Super + Penalties & Allowances + NFP Salary Packaging (save tax and increase your take home pay)

Your part in our UnitingCare team

Our Men Choosing Change Counsellor & Group Facilitators play a pivotal role within the MCC Program, operating within a multi-disciplinary team. The primary focus of this role is to facilitate behaviour change programs and undertake assessments, counselling, referrals and case reviews for a range of clients including facilitating group programs for men who are referred due to their use of violence and abuse within their intimate relationships

The position requires:

- A deep understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence and counselling practices

- A high degree of experience in client work

- Professional epistemological (framework) awareness

- Creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore the underlying causes of their behaviour, understand the impact of their actions, and develop healthier ways of relating to others

Key Responsibilities include:

- Facilitate behaviour change programs for men who perpetrate domestic violence, promoting accountability and positive change

- Provide individual intake/review and group sessions to clients, utilising evidence-based practices

- Implement safety planning for clients and their families, ensuring a focus on risk management and the cessation of violence

- Networking with the police and criminal justice sector and other agencies and services who work in the field of domestic and family violence.
