Aerotech, currently storing and maintaining large commercial aircraft from our Alice Springs, Northern Territory base, is extremely proud to be in the unique position, as an Australian aircraft maintenance organisation, holding CASA, EASA, FAA, 2-REG and other NAA, Part 145 maintenance approvals for all major aircraft types. Position Description The Production Planner reports to the Head of Planning and is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of production planning functions, processes, and procedures in accordance with the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) and Aerotech Aviation Engineering Procedures. The Production Planner supports the Planning, Procurement and Engineering divisions in both Brisbane and Alice Springs. This is a 6 month contract position that could lead into full time employment. Duties and Responsibilities The duties and responsibilities of the Production Planner listed below are not exhaustive and the position is required to carry out activities at the direction of the senior management team within individual capability and scope of the Planning division responsibilities. Production Planning · Act as the subject matter expert for assigned aircraft/projects during the lifecycle from Forward Planning handover to project completion while following documented Aerotech Procedures and work instructions. · Own the schedule and project management of critical tasks and timelines for assigned aircraft/projects. · Perform final work scope review and prepare, distribute work packs for assigned projects. · In conjunction with Procurement, manage ongoing spare, tooling, consumable and expendable requirements, and NRCs raised while projects are in production. · Implement work pack revisions, supplements, and amendments for assigned projects. · Manage production control of customer specific requirements and outputs. · Work with the Engineers in Charge (EIC) for the follow up and assessment of outstanding tasks and documentation and reschedule work where required. · Undertake quality assurance of completed and closed work pack DFPs in line with Aerotech Engineering Procedures and customer protocols. · Be responsible for the standard and quality of completed documentation, DFPs, and record systems. Customer Relationship Management · Day to day management of external customer relationships and communication. · Own internal customer relationships for Production Planning for assigned projects. · Develop and nurture relationships with external customers and suppliers. General · Identify opportunities for improvement and drive action to enhance the safety, quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the operation. · Maintain and nurture a Just Culture · Endeavour to achieve the most cost-effective solutions. · Provide Production Planning and business relief support during periods of leave. · Assist with the administration of ad-hoc projects and change management. Requirements Candidate Requirements · 1 - 3 years aviation experience in planning, technical services and/or engineering. · Basic knowledge of regulatory requirements (primarily CASA, EASA and FAA). · Have excellent customer, verbal, and written communication skills, including strong interpersonal and team building skills, and the ability to effectively work independently. · Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously within strict timelines. · Ability to understand technical documentation. · Demonstrated time management and interpersonal skills. · Intermediate proficiency with Excel, Project and IT based maintenance information systems. · High level of attention to detail. · Experience working with Airbus and Boeing platforms is desirable. · Satisfy the requirements of obtaining Aviation Security Identity Card (ASIC) including pre-employment DAMP testing.
