Killen Trucking Co (KTC) is a family-owned transport company with a modern fleet and a commitment to safety, reliability, and performance. We are seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to take ownership of our in-house workshop, leading our team and ensuring our fleet is always compliant, roadworthy, and ready for daily operations.

About the Role

As Workshop Manager, you’ll oversee all workshop operations including scheduling, job allocation, fleet servicing, staff leadership, and parts management. You’ll ensure compliance with NHVR Accreditation requirements, drive efficiency, and uphold the highest standards of workplace safety and quality.

This is a hands-on management role where your leadership and technical expertise will directly support KTC’s transport operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage day-to-day workshop activities, including job flow, labour allocation, and service scheduling.
- Ensure fleet servicing and maintenance is completed on time to meet NHVR Accreditation and roadworthiness standards.
- Manage stock control and parts procurement, working with suppliers to source the best value without compromising quality or safety.
- Provide leadership, training, and development for workshop staff, including performance management and rostering.
- Oversee compliance with OH&S;, COR, and company policies, ensuring a safe and productive workplace.
- Monitor workshop performance, costs, and KPIs, providing regular reports to senior management.
- Maintain accurate service, repair, and compliance records in the Gear Box maintenance program.

Skills & Experience

Proven experience as a Workshop Manager or similar supervisory role in a heavy vehicle environment.

Strong understanding of NHVR Maintenance Accreditation requirements.

Experience in parts interpretation, purchasing, and stock management.

Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Confident using maintenance systems and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Ability to balance operational priorities, cost management, and compliance.
