Our Mental Health Team, based in Alice Springs, provides greater access to services in remote communities through a fly‑in‑fly‑out and drive‑in‑drive‑out model, contributing to improved mental health outcomes.

About this Opportunity

The RFDS SA/NT is recruiting a suitably qualified and experienced individual to join our Mental Health Team. This chance is open to:

- Mental Health Nurse
- Aboriginal Mental Health Worker

Reporting directly to the Mental Health Service Manager, you will deliver a stepped mental health service that is evidence‑based and culturally safe for remote First Nations communities across regional and remote Australia.

You will be supported to deliver moderate‑intensity mental health services to clients who cannot access appropriate services due to remote living circumstances or ineligibility for existing services. Delivering evidence‑based psychological interventions, you will utilise telephone, telehealth, and face‑to‑face consulting methods to achieve positive outcomes for RFDS SA/NT clients.

You will be a vital resource to remote communities, ensuring the identification of activities to further develop and increase awareness of mental health and emotional wellbeing services.

About You

You are:

- Experienced in the delivery of mental health interventions in line with National Standards for Mental Health Services and practices.
- Aware of treatment approaches for remote First Nations communities and associated healing practices.
- Experienced in integrating existing government and non‑government agencies and other human service providers in the planning and delivery of services.
- Experienced in implementing mental health and social and emotional wellbeing health promotion activities.

- Attractive relocation assistance (including up to three months settling in accommodation, cost reimbursement and paid travel).
- Remote housing allowance – additional $436.00 salary per fortnight.
