Due to their success and expansion, they are looking for an experienced Industrial Designer to join the team and help elevate and broaden their product offerings.
ABOUT THE POSITION…
Working in the Product and Innovation team, we are looking for a self-motivated Industrial Designer to bring creativity, collaboration, and clever thinking to the team. This role spans the full spectrum of the product design process—from ideation and concept development to design, testing, and production—with a robust emphasis on design for manufacture.
Responsibilities
- Design from concept to production, with a focus on real-world use and manufacturability.
- Observe and interpret customer needs, translating insights into thoughtful, effective design solutions.
- Prototype, test, and refine ideas based on user insights and feedback.
- Collaborate with engineers, marketers, and production teams to make great ideas even better.
- Combine creativity with commercial thinking—your designs should look good, work well, and make business sense.

Who we are looking for
Success in this position requires a keen ability to observe and interpret customer needs, translating insights into thoughtful, effective design solutions.
- A degree in Industrial or Product Design and at least 3 years in a similar role.
- Proven understanding of design for manufacturing, customer centric design and product development cycle.
- Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred) and a knack for visualising and communicating ideas.
- Strong prototyping skills and the ability to gather feedback to rapidly iterate and refine concepts.
- Experience in basic mechanical engineering principles e.g., moving parts, lever mechanisms, etc.
- Experience designing for manufacturing —from plastics and metals to coatings and finishes.
- An eye for colour, form, and detail.
- Clear and confident communication.
- Commercial mindset with an understanding of ROI.
Desirable
- Rendering software skills (SolidWorks Visualize or similar)
- Adobe Illustrator + Photoshop skills
- Project management experience
- FMEA - proficiency in analysis of mechanics / stresses / forces
- Understanding of material characteristics including polymers & aluminium
