About The Role
Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation's most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.

This position is responsible for providing high quality administration support, managing phone calls, email requests and data entry for interpreters to the Sydney Health Care Interpreter Service (SHCIS). The SHCIS Service Centre responds to requests for interpreters from hospitals and other District services, across SLHD, SESLHD and other external entities.

Daily Requirements Of The Role

* Deliver high quality customer service in a busy call centre environment, managing both inbound and outbound communication with clients and interpreters.
* Coordinate and schedule interpreter bookings, including managing interpreter calendars, allocating jobs efficiently, and ensuring all diary information is accurate and up to date.
* Apply strong attention to detail when entering booking information, updating records, and managing changes or cancellations to avoid errors and service disruptions.
* Use problem solving skills to manage booking challenges (e.g., interpreter availability, urgent requests, escalations) and provide timely, practical solutions.
* Manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment, balancing call handling duties with booking coordination tasks.

This position will work a 5 day roster between 07:00 to 18:00 weekdays, working full time from the office.

Ideal Candidate

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work with multiple systems and basic proficiency in Microsoft office applications.
* Clerical experience with demonstrated attention to detail and accurate data entry.
* Experience working in a Contact Centre environment with high call volumes.
