The Role
The role of the APS 5 Health Clerk is to provide administrative support to the Institute of Aviation Medicine Senior Aviation Medical Officers in the processing and dissemination of specialist medical advice regarding Australian Defence Force aviation recruits and current members of Australian Defence Force Aviation. The APS5 Clinical Health Clerk is accountable for prioritising and organising section workflow, making decisions within their defined parameters relating to area of responsibility and provide leadership to a small team within Clinical Flight.
About our Team
The role of Clinical Flight at the Royal Australian Air Force, Institute of Aviation Medicine is to assist in optimising aviation health and performance across the Australian Defence Force. This includes assessing medical conditions that arise amongst aviation members and providing specialist advice on the impact this has to the member's ability to perform and execute aviation related duties. Clinical Flight determine medical and specialist employment category classifications relating to aviation related occupation members and also provide input into aviation medical reviews
