Overview
As our dedicated Editorial AI QA specialist, you will immerse yourself in real-world newsroom applications, rigorously testing AI systems against core journalistic principles. Using actual news content and scenarios, you will identify risks, validate outputs, and ensure our AI tools meet the exacting standards journalists demand before deployment. This role can be worked from any of our head offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Queensland or Adelaide.
Key Responsibilities
Real-World Testing - Conduct testing using authentic journalistic content and newsroom scenarios to evaluate AI tool performance and reliability.
Output Validation - Assess AI outputs against editorial guidelines, checking for factual accuracy, contextual relevance, tone, and ethical compliance.
Collaborative Enhancement - Partner with the AI Prompt Engineer to provide detailed, actionable feedback that refines system performance.
Quality Assurance Protocols - Design and execute regression testing procedures as AI models evolve, documenting performance changes and maintaining quality benchmarks.
Standards Advocacy - Champion quality best practices and uphold the integrity of AI-assisted journalism across deployments.
Who are you?
Strong understanding of journalistic principles and ethics, with appreciation for editorial integrity
Proven QA experience, preferably in media, technology, or content-focused environments
Exceptional analytical skills with a methodical approach to testing
Strong problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail
Clear communication skills and collaborative working style
Familiarity with AI technologies and NLP (advantageous)
