The Risk Manager manages the risk framework for The Forge Companies, providing oversight of the risk functions and processes that span all Forge entities (two Insurance Agencies, a Registered Investment Advisory firm, a State Chartered Trust Company, and Bookkeeping/Payroll Processing firm), and serves as a resource for various compliance matters.
The Risk Manager is a shared services role working closely with the General Counsel and the various business unit leaders to design, manage, and implement a layered approach to managing risk across the organization.
The approach will include an organization-wide Risk Assessment exercise, review of Policy and Procedures manuals for each entity, development of internal control reviews for critical processes, coordination of training programs, management of compliance testing and monitoring, and support for audit functions across all entities.Essential FunctionsDesigning and implementing a risk assessment that spans the organization to help with prioritization of work for the remaining Risk Management programManaging recurring procedurally defined Risk Management tasksServing as Chair and coordinating the Risk Oversight Committee structure for each entityDesigning and executing internal control reviews to test high risk processes for (1) adherence to internal procedures and (2) for compliance with applicable rules and regulationsSupporting the Director of Information Technology with the management of the company's Information Security program including several key processes and controls such as Vendor Risk Assessments, Business Continuity Plans, Disaster Recovery tests, etc.Overseeing compliance calendar management and testing using compliance management tools (such as Orion Compliance, Resolver, etc.) to track and execute required tests and certificationsSupporting the various compliance officers within the business units (such as the Chief Compliance Officer of the RIA) in compliance program management including risk assessments, regulatory update monitoring, and compliance testing proceduresCoordinating internal and external audit functions including scheduling and managing internal audits, AML/BSA audits, and preparing for regulatory examinationsOther duties as assigned.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Desired Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesCollege Degree in related field or equivalent work experience.5+ years experience in Risk Management.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Strong leadership and organizational skillsStrong research, analytical, and interpersonal skillsAbility to self-identify opportunities for improvementStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.Positive attitude and adapts easily to a constant changing environment.Physical RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.Travel RequirementsLess than 5% of the time, but occasional travel is necessary.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionOther
