Role Description
The Youth Justice Worker plays a pivotal role in maintaining the safety and security of the facility. This position involves supervising and supporting young people overnight, as well as redirecting anti-social behaviour.
* Maintaining CCTV monitoring, compliance reporting, responding to alarms, and conducting perimeter searches are key responsibilities.
* Working directly with children and young people in a custodial environment is an integral part of this job. Regular observation and facilitating support from other services are essential tasks.
* Responding promptly to incidents and redirecting anti-social behaviour requires situational awareness and effective communication skills.
This unique opportunity will see you join a dedicated team prioritizing the safety and wellbeing of children and young people at the Malmsbury Youth Justice Precinct. The precinct is set to reopen, housing a small group of young men aged 17 and over.
To be successful in this role, you must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident. A health and fitness assessment and current certifications in First Aid and CPR are also mandatory requirements. Additionally, a valid Working with Children Check is necessary for this position.
