We are looking for a first-class journalist working to join the digital leadership team at the heart of the country's most dynamic news organisation.
For this new role of Premium Content Assistant Editor we are looking for someone who can enhance Sky News' ability to deliver deeper reporting and analysis through investigations, narrative writing and multimedia storytelling.
You should be a highly motivated, creative journalist who has excellent news knowledge, bags of energy, inventive ideas and is keen to experiment with smart ways to tell stories.
What you'll do:
- Have a clear editorial vision for premium content on Sky News digital platforms and communicate that vision to your team.
- Lead on the commissioning and delivery of long form journalism, analysis and insight for the Sky News mobile site and app.
- Work with others across Sky News on the planning of specials and longer-term projects to produce high quality digital content.
- Directly manage a team including senior journalists.
- Develop new and engaging ways of using text, video and graphics to tell shareable stories on digital platforms.
- Provide clear and consistent feedback for teams delivering in-depth journalism and develop and coach members of the digital team.
What you'll bring:
Knowledge of digital platforms and the way audiences consume news online.
- Experience in narrative editing and a sense of what makes a good online experience using text, images, graphics and video.
- Excellent digital production skills and an ability to readily embrace new technology.
- The diplomatic skills to work effectively with teams around the newsroom, the UK and internationally.
- Strong communication skills, impeccable attention to detail and the ability to prioritise your workload
