Registered Midwife Level 1 - Maternity Services We have full-time and part-time opportunities available for experienced RM's to join our team at Burnside Hospital, Toorak Gardens. Reporting to the Clinical Manager Maternity Services, the RM is responsible for delivering safe contemporary care to patients within the Maternity Services Unit, and is accountable for:
Delivering a consistently high standard of clinical care and practices Ensuring quality patient-centered services and optimal experiences are achieved at all times Maintaining a physically safe and culturally sensitive clinical environment for all patients, their families and staff. The role works as part of a dedicated team including Clinical Manager, Clinical Midwives, Visiting Specialist Obstetricians and Paediatricians, and Allied Health professionals to deliver high quality clinical care to patients of Burnside Hospital.
You are a clinically proficient and experienced Midwife who is motivated and passionate about providing exceptional patient care and enjoys working in an environment where your contribution is valued.
This position requires an individual who:
Has > 2 years demonstrated clinical experience working across the continuum of midwifery care (Intrapartum, Postnatal and Special Care Nursery environments) Is currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Has demonstrated clinical experience and a comprehensive knowledge of contemporary midwifery practice, with a patient-focused approach in service provision Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage professionally and respectfully with patients and all members of the multidisciplinary team. Is able to apply critical thinking skills in practice, and adapt to changing models of care and clinical practice based on clinical evidence Is able to effectively resolve conflict and problem solve, using appropriate strategies and managing sensitivities Is willing to coach students to facilitate continuous learning and create capacity to deliver contemporary quality care Commits to learning and development to expand current knowledge and expertise relevant to the role Understands quality accreditation and continuous improvement frameworks Recognises, values and promotes diversity and inclusion Has a flexible and proactive approach to work with a positive 'can do' attitude Is able to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team Exhibits the highest ethical standards and treats all hospital and patient matters with confidentiality and respect Embodies Burnside Hospital's values-based approach.
