Brisbane
Lives Lived Well
Development Technician
Posted: 24 March
Offer description

For over 40 years, Lives Lived Well has been supporting people to live their lives well. We are a non-profit healthcare provider, offering evidence-based services across Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia, specialising in supporting people with alcohol and other drug use and dependency, mental health, and gambling concerns.

Our dedicated team now comprises more than 600 staff members and is further enriched by a collaborative network of contractors, students, and volunteers. Unchanged from our beginnings is our fundamental belief that with the right support, people can change their lives.

In this newly created role, you'll strengthen organisational capability by designing and implementing people development strategies, tools and processes that support workforce effectiveness now and into the future. You'll partner with leaders, People and Culture and teams across the organisation to ensure capability approaches are practical, aligned and embedded into everyday practice.

You'll lead the design, evolution and ongoing stewardship of our organisation-wide capability and workforce development approach, including work across:

* Developing and maintaining capability frameworks, models and tools that support role capability, skill development and professional growth
* Designing fit-for-purpose capability assessment methods (including multi-source feedback) and translating insights into evidence-based recommendations
* Designing and supporting development pathways, learning initiatives and OD interventions that strengthen individual, team and organisational effectiveness
* Embedding capability into core people processes (recruitment, onboarding, performance and development, leadership development and succession planning) and evaluating impact for continuous improvement

In this full-time you'll join a curious team that thinks differently and seeks new ways. We look to the evidence. We explore new ideas. And when we reach "better", we ask, "What's next?"

What we are looking for

You're an experienced organisational development practitioner who brings structure, curiosity and a practical approach to building workforce capability. You'll be comfortable working across the organisation to influence, partner and deliver, using evidence and insights to shape development priorities while staying aligned to LLW's values. You'll also bring:

* A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organisational Development or a related field (postgraduate qualification desirable)
* Demonstrated experience (minimum 2 years) in organisational development, capability/workforce development or a closely related role
* Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, engage stakeholders and deliver practical outcomes
* Experience designing and facilitating development initiatives (e.g., learning programs, pathways, OD interventions), with confident presentation and facilitation skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trust, influence and partner across teams
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to use data and qualitative insights to identify trends, risks and development priorities
* Comfort with HR/people systems and continuous improvement, along with strong attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused approach

You will need to have a current Australian Driver Licence and be eligible for a clean National Police Check.

You'll love working with talented people who are humble, human, and full of hope. We're dedicated to helping others, no matter how difficult or complex the challenge, and we know that our people are our impact – whatever your role within LLW, your efforts matter.

You'll join a small highly engaged, supportive team who work hard and set high standards. We are flexible and family friendly, with a manager who is very collaborative, and empowers his team to utilise their strengths. We're committed to the overall goal of enhancing capability across the organisation.

Our employee benefits include:

* Extra wellbeing leave – five paid LLW Leave days per year (pro‐rata)
* Salary packaging options to increase take‐home pay, including meals and entertainment
* Discounts and rewards through Wellspring across 360+ retailers
* Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to support wellbeing
* Cultural and inclusion benefits, including First Nations ceremonial and NAIDOC leave
* Values‐driven culture that honours lived experience, inclusion and personal wellbeing

Join a workplace where people are supported to show up fully, grow professionally, and make a genuine difference in the community.
