Baby First Aid QLD is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and engaging Baby First Aid Educator to join our growing team.
This rewarding role involves delivering high-quality, evidence-based baby and child first aid education to parents, caregivers, and those working with infants and young children. You will play a vital role in empowering families with the confidence and skills to respond in emergencies.
About the Role
As a Baby First Aid Educator, you will facilitate:
* Regular monthly baby first aid group sessions
* Ad hoc private sessions (in-home or small group)
Each session runs for a minimum of two hours, with flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver interactive and engaging baby first aid training sessions for parents and caregivers
* Teach essential baby and child first aid skills, including CPR, choking, burns, rashes, anaphylaxis, and more
* Demonstrate correct first aid techniques using hands-on simulations and practical activities
* Explain first aid concepts, guidelines, and best practices clearly and confidently
* Create a supportive, inclusive, and welcoming learning environment
* Encourage participation, discussion, and questions during sessions
* Respond to participant questions with professionalism, empathy, and reassurance
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current baby and child first aid guidelines and protocols
Essential Requirements
* Current First Aid Certificate
* Current Working With Children Check
* Driver's licence and reliable transport
* Health-related background (e.g. nurse, midwife, paramedic or similar)
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Strong ability to engage and connect with parents and caregivers
* Empathy, patience, and a calm, approachable manner
* Proven ability to facilitate interactive and engaging learning experiences
* Commitment to ongoing professional development
* Availability for flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Desirable
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent)
